Energy Shielding Technique

Shielding is about creating space to enjoy your own thoughts and feelings and restrict unwanted intrusions. As you go about your day, your energy field or aura interacts with outside influences like a radio antenna picking up broadcasts from all around you. Some people are highly sensitive to the constant flow of information while others are barely affected.

If you find yourself overwhelmed by a barrage of feelings, thoughts or even physical sensations, it is time to claim some space for yourself in the form of an energetic barrier or shield.

Before you begin

Find a quiet place where you will not be interrupted.
Take a few deep slow breathes and clear your thoughts. It is helpful to sit or stand while learning the technique but can also be practiced lying down.

Basic technique
  • Concentrate on something or someone that fills you with love, joy or gratitude. Allow yourself to bask in these feelings, filling your heart to the brim and pushing out any other thought or feeling.
  • Feel your base chakra located at the base of your spine and spiraling downward between your legs. As you inhale, focus your intent on opening this energy center and drawing energy up from mother earth through the base chakra to the sacral, solar plexus and into the heart center.
  • As you exhale, move the energy out from your heart center in every direction.
  • Inhale again while opening the crown chakra located at the top of the head spiraling up towards the heavens. Focus your intent on moving heavenly energy from the crown, third eye, throat, and into the heart center.
  • As you exhale, move the energy out from your heart center in every direction.
  • On your next inhale, bring the energy up from the base and down from the crown and into the heart simultaneously.
  • Exhale from the heart focusing on filling a bubble expanding like a balloon extending from your heart in all directions.
    Repeat steps 6 and 7 until you feel this surrounds you at roughly arm’s length in all directions.
Program your bubble

Once your bubble is of sufficient size and strength, you can program it as a filter to keep unwanted energies from encroaching on your space. Below are some sample programs you can use to get you started. You can change this programming at any time through your focused intention.

  • Only allow light and love to flow through my bubble.
  • Keep negative or harmful energies and entities out.
  • Allow me to choose what I examine on the outside of my bubble.
  • Notify me of something that I should pay attention to.
Tend your bubble

Repeat the basic technique daily to strengthen your bubble and protect yourself from unwanted energies. You may reinforce the program whenever you feel the need to strengthen it, or reprogram it.

Tending your bubble can be done anytime, anywhere and as often as you like.
